SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN AGES 3-6

Are you looking for ways to increase your child’s awareness of the natural world? Then join us for A Chest Full of Stories with Miss Karen, held monthly at Tyler! Exposing children to the wonders of nature has been shown to spark creativity and imagination, so we’d love to help families encourage a lifetime of learning about the world in which we live.

Join us for a walk to the Garden Schoolhouse and look for signs of winter. We will prepare for the new season to come by listening to Winter Survival: Animal Hibernation, Migration, and Adaptation by L.R. Hanson. Children will learn what different animals do to prepare for the long winter ahead by gathering food, going on a long journey, or staying for the long winter. Children will also make their own winter animals to take home.

This program is for children ages 3-6 with one supervising adult. Check in at the Visitor Center first, and then we will enjoy a short walk to the Garden Schoolhouse. This program will be held indoors from November through March. However, we may be outside for part of the program on mild winter days, so please dress accordingly.

NON-MEMBERS: $12 per child, with one free supervising adult (fee includes admission for the day, so feel free to stay as long as you’d like!) Additional accompanying non-member adults and non-participating children must pay admission.
