Autumnal Art Workshop at Tyler Arboretum

This event is no longer on sale.

Tuesday October 13

11:00 AM  –  2:00 PM

Just in time for fall foliage, enjoy an autumnal workshop where you’ll paint (or draw) the landscape and buildings of Tyler Arboretum. Instructor Pete Prown will offer tips on Impressionist “plein air” techniques and linear perspective, as well as many other tips and tricks. Your choice of subjects can include the lush trees and landscape, Lachford Hall or the Historic Barn. If you want a seasonal challenge, try the Crooked Goblin Shack, which already looks like a Van Gogh painting! Bring your own easel, paint and canvas (or pencils and pad) to enjoy this relaxing session outdoors at Tyler. Some painting or drawing experience preferred.

Required materials:  Your paint of choice (oil, acrylic, watercolor), canvas, art board or paper, brushes, pad and pencils (for drawing artists), a sturdy easel, straight-edge or ruler for architectural rendering (optional), paper towels, hand wipes and/or plastic bags for cleanup

NOTE: Please do not bring chemical solvents like turpentine or turpenoid. Put brushes in plastic bag and remove oil-based paint at home. In the event of rain, this workshop will be held in Tyler’s Historic Barn.

FACE MASKS ARE REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS CLASS
