VPP: Basics of Ecological Garden Practices for your Backyard on Zoom

This event is no longer on sale.

Saturday March 13

10:30 AM  –  12:00 PM

Have you ever looked at your backyard garden and wondered if there was a way to manage everything more sustainably? Do you feel like you are working against nature instead of alongside it? Join us at this Zoom class to learn more about the process of ecological gardening, a practice that gives gardeners the power to affect real environmental change -- right from your own backyard.

We’ll discuss how you can build soil health to reduce carbon in the atmosphere, conserve water, recycle nutrients and create an ecosystem that will support local wildlife. The environmental challenges we currently face may feel insurmountable, but our backyards, whether large or small, can be part of a patchwork of solutions. Learn more about how our backyards, communities and public gardens, along with the plants we grow there, could play a role in saving the world. This is a basic introduction for beginner gardeners or gardeners who would like to fine tune. Bess will share her 10 years of experience as a Tyler gardener and a conservationist.

Your Zoom link will be emailed to you one hour prior to the program.
