This event is no longer on sale.

Saturday April 23

9:30 AM  –  10:30 AM

FOR CHILDREN AGES 6-12 (with one free accompanying adult)

PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED

The journey from caterpillar to butterfly is full of adventure! For young people ages 6 to 12, this outdoor activity will take each participant from a newly hatched caterpillar to becoming one of five native butterflies. As the caterpillar, participants will learn what plants are good to eat and what to avoid. Each will learn firsthand how to outsmart hungry birds and even other insects. Fun for everyone who wants to experience science in person. Each participant will take home a headband that depicts a specific butterfly, as well as memories of the Great Caterpillar Caper.

There are two sessions available – 9:30 am and 11:30 am.

MEMBERS: $8 per child with one free adult (sign-in for your discount!); NON-MEMBERS: $12 per child with one free adult.  The non-member fee includes admission for the day for participating child and adult, so feel free to stay as long as you'd like!
