SUITABLE FOR ADULTS AND TEENS AGES 15-17

Experience Tyler by the light of a full moon. Step into the forest after dark to explore woodlands, streams, and open areas. Listen for nighttime sounds, watch shifting shadows, and notice the scents of the evening. Along the way, your guides will point out features of special interest and seasonal highlights. Keep an eye and ear out for the nocturnal wildlife that calls Tyler home.

• Gates open at 6:45 pm
• Group leaves from the Visitor Center at 7:05 pm — please arrive on time
• Check in with the staff person at the Visitor Center Patio
• Restrooms available at the beginning and end of the hike

What to expect:

• Experienced guides
• Moderately paced, 3+ mile hike on rocky, uneven terrain
• Changes in walking surfaces, including pavement, grass, gravel, and rocky trails
• Changes in grade, including steep hills 
• Possible stream crossings
• Darkness
• Time to observe the moon (bring binoculars)
• Not suitable for those with limited mobility

What to wear & carry:

• Dress in layers for the weather
• Hiking boots with good tread
• Handheld flashlight (cell phone flashlights are not sufficient)
• Water and snacks
• Hiking poles (optional)

GUEST PASS HOLDERS (for non-member use only): Adult guests: $17 each; Teen guests: $12.75 each. Please give the Visitor Center Associate your guest passes at check-in. Each participant must submit a pass. If you are accompanying a participating Family or higher-level member, please let the Visitor Center Associate know.
