FOR AGES 4-6
Kids are more likely to try new foods when they help prepare them. The Arboretum will serve as both outdoor kitchen and culinary inspiration for our youngest gourmands. Take a walk around the Edible Garden to see where our vegetables come from, and then head inside to prepare delicious dishes made with healthy, natural ingredients. Please inquire before registering if you have allergy concerns.
Bundle price is $90 members; $120 non-members. Price is for the child only and includes a materials fee.

September 11 - Eggplant Pizzas
Summer veggies are still coming in strong! Turn eggplants from the garden into a delicious play on pizza. Make a tangy sauce with fresh herbs to slather on smoky veggie slices and top with creamy cheese.
September 25 - Sunflower Seed Snacks
Sunflowers are a feast for the eyes and the tummy! Learn how to make a rich pesto with sunflower seeds and fresh picked herbs from our garden. Finish off the lesson with a sweet seeded granola bar.
October 9 - Gumbo Gobblers
Learn to make a flavorful gumbo using okra picked right out of the garden. Combine turkey and garden fresh vegetables with a rich stock and rice to make this hearty dish that will transport you to the Southern bayou!
October 23 - Potato Parade
There are so many recipes we can make with potatoes! By adding a few fragrant and spiced herbs from our garden, you will discover how to make potatoes the star of any meal.
November 6 - Apple A Day
Red, green, yellow and pink! See how this fall fruit can be both savory and sweet by making a cheddar apple grilled cheese followed by cinnamon sugar apple dirt bombs.
November 20 - Winter Squash
There are so many varieties of winter squash beyond the common butternut. Try new types of squash roasted, pureed and stuffed to warm you up as the season turns colder!
