Saturday July 22

10:00 AM  –  11:30 AM

Join Katelyn Melvin of ‘Tooth of the Lion Apothecary’ for a medicinal and edible plant walk through Tyler’s gardens and discover a range of edible plant species, from the lowly dandelion to the towering black cherry. Focusing on each plant’s medicinal qualities, the class covers the historical importance, ethnobotanical perspectives, phytochemical properties and contemporary use. Learn identification, practical wildcrafting techniques and ethics, as well as uses applicable to your home kitchen. We’ll end our walk with a Q&A under the shade, while enjoying a freshly wildcrafted tea made from a plant that we discussed! Walks will be easy but please wear appropriate footwear.
