New Moon Hike

This event is no longer on sale.

Sunday October 15

7:00 PM  –  9:00 PM

FOR ADULTS 18+ ONLY

Experience the Arboretum after dark!

Nighttime offers a different perspective of the Arboretum. Join guides Dick Cloud and John Bunting as we traverse the Arboretum under a moonless sky. We will depend on our flashlights and use our senses of hearing, smell, and touch to navigate the North Woods. Our guides will share points of special interest and seasonal highlights. If the skies are clear, we will observe the stars as we walk through meadows and more open areas. We also hope to see and hear some of the nocturnal wildlife that make a home at the Arboretum!

This moderately-paced hike is for adults comfortable walking 2+ miles on uneven terrain at night. Bring a flashlight and wear sturdy hiking boots.

This program starts after Tyler's closing hours. Gates will open 15 minutes before the program begins and close promptly 10 minutes after the start time, so please be on time. Once you arrive and park, please check in with the staff associate at the Visitor Center Patio, where the group will gather.
