Deepen your child’s connection to nature with story time by the Delaware County Library System featuring On Meadowview Street by Henry Cole. This fabulous children’s book features Caroline, a girl who lives on Meadowview Street but can’t find the meadow. Then she spots a flower and her wheels start turning! After the story, take a walk with Tyler Educators to discover wildlife habitats and meadow areas. Make seed balls to take home to start your own mini meadow.

Pre-registration required; FREE for everyone

The Community Read initiative is designed to motivate people to pick up a good book, to encourage reading for pleasure and enlightenment, and to start a conversation in our community. The Community Read is led by Longwood Gardens and partner institutions including libraries, public gardens and conservation institutions. Join us to explore the inspirational power of one person by reading Ben Montgomery’s book, Grandma Gatewood’s Walk: The inspiring story of the woman who saved the Appalachian Trail. The corresponding title for families is On Meadowview Street which tells the story of a little girl whose inspiration transforms her new neighborhood through newfound connections with nature.
