Pollinator Plants for Your Containers: Session 2

This event is no longer on sale.

Sunday April 24

1:00 PM  –  2:30 PM

FOR ADULTS AND YOUTH AGES 12+

You don’t need a large country garden to support pollinators. Actually, you will be doing them a favor by providing a mini-oasis for them to get to larger feeding areas. Join Julia Lo Ehrhardt as she talks about native perennial plants to consider planting in containers and then plant one up to take home. You will learn about the many choices, from wood phlox to Cardinal flower, and much more. All you need to bring is a container no larger than 12”x12”x12” or holds no greater than 30 dry quarts of soil. Please bring a box to carry and garden gloves if you use them. Pick a container that is not too heavy to lift by yourself.

When you're registering, please choose whether you have a sunny area (greater than 6 hours of direct sun), shade (no direct sun), or semi-shade (somewhere in between). We will try to accommodate the proper selections. You will be taking home five native perennials.

PRICES ARE PER CONTAINER, NOT PER PERSON. Maximum 3 people per container, please. You will have the opportunity to tell us how many people are making the container garden with you on the registration form. All youth must be accompanied by an adult.

Members: $47 per container; Non-Members: $60 per container

Registration closes on April 23 at noon.

Please check in first at the Visitor Center, and then head down to the Barn Terrace.
