Saturday Wildflower Walk - Spring Explorations

This event is no longer on sale.

Saturday April 23

5:00 PM  –  7:00 PM

Rain or shine

Appropriate for adults (18+) and youth ages 12-17

Join wildflower expert Dick Cloud on an informative two-hour hike that will take you through Tyler’s spring scenes of meadows, woods, and occasionally streamside. Some of our destinations include the North Woods, Indian Rock on the Blue Trail, Dismal Valley on the Orange Trail, Dogwood Circle on the Red Trail, and the Shade Tree Nursery, which is on the White Trail. We will focus on the newness of spring as green begins to carpet the Arboretum. Join us in search of newly emerging spring ephemerals and watch springtime buds swell as we hear the chorus of frogs and birds in the warming spring days. All levels of knowledge are welcome. There may be some periods of moderately paced hiking, so wear comfortable hiking shoes. Feel free to bring a camera and a wildflower guide, such as Peterson’s Field Guide or Newcomb’s Wildflower Guide if you’d like, and enjoy a botanical-filled late afternoon.

Please check in first at the Visitor Center, where you'll meet your guide afterward. Please be on time.

Members: FREE (sign-in for discount); Non-members: $15 per adult; $9 per child ages 12-17. The non-member fee includes admission.
