FOR CHILDREN AGES 6-11
Bring a pair of binoculars with you! We'll roam Tyler’s woods and fields as we look and listen for the many different kinds of beautiful birds at the Arboretum. We’ll learn about birds and their habits, and maybe you’ll recognize some of them from your backyard! We’ll find a nice spot to sit and do some drawings of what we see.
Are you looking for ways to increase your child’s awareness of the natural world? Then, join us as we begin a new adventure at Tyler for youth ages 6-11: The Magic of Nature! Barbara Frank, one of our experienced Docents and a PA Master Naturalist, will guide you. Seeing our youth fall in love with nature is her passion as she encourages everyone to use their senses to make discoveries while helping families encourage a lifetime of learning about the world in which we live. Please note that weather and other unforeseen circumstances could impact the planned topic of the tour.
This program is for children ages 6-11 with one free supervising adult. Check-in at the Visitor Center first, and then we will set off together to make discoveries and enjoy a short walk to an area that sparks our imaginations. This is an outdoor activity, so please dress accordingly. In case of rain, the group will meet in a protected area.
PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED
MEMBERS: $8 per child with one free supervising adult (sign in first for your member discount!)
NON-MEMBERS: $13 per child with one free supervising adult (fee includes admission for the day, so feel free to stay as long as you’d like!) Additional accompanying non-member adults and non-participating children must pay admission.
GUEST PASS HOLDERS: $8 per child with one free supervising adult. For non-member use only. Please give your guest pass to the Visitor Center Associate when checking in for this program. The guest pass covers admission only; there is still an additional fee of $8 per child for this program. Additional accompanying non-member adults and non-participating children must pay admission.
Registration is for children only. No drop-offs; children must be accompanied by an adult (max two registered children per adult, please).
