Winter Moon Fireside

Friday December 2

5:00 PM  –  8:00 PM

FOR ALL AGES

The secrets of the night sky have long inspired art, mythology, and science.  Right now, we’re at an exciting moment for lunar exploration, as the success of the Artemis I mission would mean that we will return to the moon more than 50 years later.  The return will also bring our art and culture through a time capsule – the Lunar Codex.  There’s no better time to engage with the wonder and mystery of space.

Join us on Friday, December 2, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm for a brand-new event at Tyler – a moonlit evening of art and community.  Several fire pits will be set up for sharing s'mores and hot chocolate! An astronomer will be on-hand to help you view the moon and catch sight of Saturn and Jupiter. In the Barn, the Legends of the Moon art exhibit will showcase the original works selected for inclusion in the Lunar Codex.  Listen to the ethereal music of harpist Joanna Marini Dindinger while you browse the collection.

S'mores can be pre-purchased by registering below at a reduced price of $10.00 per pack (each pack will serve two people) or available at the full price of $15 per pack in limited quantities during the event.  So, pre-register by 9 am Thursday, December 1, for your s’mores packs and save!  Then, just pick up your reserved packs at the Visitor Center when you arrive.  We will also be serving complimentary hot chocolate throughout the event.

There is no rain date for this event.
